Please come and explore all the wonderful choices here at Downside but do remember, the listing of a plant on our plant list doesn’t necessarily mean it will be in stock on the day you visit!
Conversely, there will be additions to our list during the year, so if you are looking for something particular, do ask – we might be able to help. Call us on 01225 862 392 or email us.

Our own plant list is divided for your reference into categories. Please remember though that some of the plants are seasonal and our lists are a guide to our anticipated stock for the year. Not every plant will be available at all times.
As we grow most of our own plants, they are arranged according to their culture requirements and not alphabetically. We have indicated the area on the Nursery on each plant section and do please ask at the Till for help.
You have the opportunity to sign up for our newsletter (approx 6 p.a.) when you’ll be amongst the first to know of exciting new additions to our plant lists.

If you’re looking for a large order for any planting scheme, please talk to Lorraine in good time on 01225 862 392 or email her here. For example, cutting material needs to be booked in September and seed raised material by January at the very latest. And bare root trees and hedging need to be ordered by the end of September.
We post our plant list on our website, having taken every care to ensure its accuracy at the time of posting but we cannot be responsible for any errors or omissions. Our plant list is correct as of April 2023, but not all plants may be available on the day of your visit.
