Full-time staff are required to work as part of our team – an opportunity to work with a wide and interesting range of plant species. Please note there is of necessity some compulsory overtime in the spring and a watering rota for summer weekends. Payment: We accept the majority of major debit and credit cards for payment (not Amex).

Delivery: We can undertake delivery for larger plants in the local area (up to 20 miles from the Nursery) if you are unable to fit them into your car. Delivery charges are quoted on an individual basis. Please speak to a member of our staff.

Mail Order: Our Nursery is very much geared up for personal shopping and unfortunately we are not able to offer a mail order service.

Gift Vouchers: Downside has its own Gift Vouchers for use in our nursery (see under plants), but we do not participate in any national gift voucher schemes. More information may be found here.

Disabled Access: Wheelchair users can visit the main part of the nursery, keeping to the main paths.

Toilet: There is a toilet – please ask a staff member to direct you. Please note it does have a step.

Directions:

We are situated in the village of Westwood, Wiltshire, located between Bath and Trowbridge.

Sat Nav: BA15 2DE – 143 Upper Westwood. If coming from the Bradford on Avon direction, we recommend you follow the B3109 rather than any ‘shortcuts’ through the lanes! Similarly if coming from the Bath direction, we recommend you follow the road through Freshford rather than the lanes through Iford or Sharpstone. From Bradford-on-Avon: follow the brown signs off the B3109 (Bradford-on-Avon to Wingfield Road)

From Trowbridge: Leaving Trowbridge on the road to Bradford on Avon, turn left onto Westwood Road. Head straight across at the Westwood crossroads and then follow the brown signs.

From Bath: Leave Bath on the A36 (Warminster Road). Go straight over the traffic lights at Viaduct/Limpley Stoke and climb the hill. At the top turn left through Freshford, following the road down all the way through, past The Inn at Freshford Pub and up the hill up to Westwood (you’ll see the signs for Iford on your right). Keep on this road until you see the Downside Nurseries ‘brown sign’ where you turn left. We are 150 yards up on the right.
