Amazing late summer display for our September Banner

Eunonymous phellomanus

One of the ornamental Spindle Trees, the Eunonymous phellomanus is a very interesting tree with attractive bark and good autumn colour.  It has fasciated branches and the 4-lobed fruits appear in the autumn and, when they split, the orange seeds make a dramatic colour contrast with the bright pink fruits.  Just what is needed when the garden is beginning to lack colour.

It is slow growing and good for small gardens, reaching 2.5mx2.5m  (8×8′) after 10 years.
