Winter bedding plants for our November Banner

Mothering Sunday

Mothering Sunday

If you’re looking for a special present for Mum, how about one of our lovely shrubs that will bring delight for years to come. Cut flowers always have such a short life…..

For that something really special, what about a Camellia?  Here’s a pic of one of our very popular varieties:  Camellia Japonica-  Brushfield Yellow.  Stunning.  Lady Campbell in the pic below  is a vigorous compact upright evergreen shrub with oval glossy dark green leaves and double rose firm red flowers in late winter/early Spring.  Don’t forget, neutral to acid soil is required to grow camellias.

And remember too that with Camellias and all acid-loving plants, they thrive so much better if you water them only with rainwater.  They are not a fan of tap water and all it contains!

If a shrub isn’t quite right, then Pauline has been busy creating a number of tubs and baskets from which to choose And if all inspiration fails, then there’s always our Downside gift vouchers!
