Whetman Pinks are celebrating their 80th year in business – and we have been buying cuttings from them for about 40 of them. They are really the best there is, as evidenced by the impressive number of award-winning varieties in their list. They breed for scent as well as colour and form which is lovely as so many modern plants have lost their perfume.
Pinks are really tough and will survive the worse weather providing they have adequate drainage – they hate soggy conditions.
We have 40 varieties in stock:
- Alpines
- Alpine Early Bloomers
- Pot Patio ‘Scent First’ Varieties
- Garden Pinks
Most will repeat bloom or bloom continuously all summer if dead-headed. We have good stocks on the nursery now (mid Feb) although a little early to be flowering, but please note though that we have often sold out of the Alpines/Early Bloomers and Scent First varieties by May. These are our varieties as at the beginning of the season and the AGM alongside means this is a variety which has received an Award of Garden Merit from the RHS.
