We have had the first of our tree deliveries from Frank Matthews. The fruit run is replenished and Mulberrys are now back in stock again. We have the trained apples, cherries, plums and damsons – these are always in short supply so shop early! No trained pears again this year; apparently there are ongoing difficulties with the rootstock.
The first of the ornamental trees are here. We have laburnums which have been difficult to obtain recently, flowering cherries and some lovely Betulas including Grayswood Ghost and Trinity College.
We shall be having a further delivery this year, mostly of bare-root trees. We like to pot our own where we can. This means if there is something you especially want that is still available, we may be able to get it on the lorry. If not we shall have a further delivery in the New Year.
We now have prices for bare-root and root-balled hedging. We shall stock a certain amount of bare-root hawthorn, blackthorn, hazel and a few other natives, but if you want large quantities please let us know as soon as possible so we can organise delivery.
Root-balled stock is only available to order, so please ask for a quote. This is the best way to buy Taxus (Yew) and worth considering for Laurel.
