Looking forward to Christmas once again, we have Mr Rich’s splendid traditional wreaths and a selection of Christmas trees, both cut and potted.
From Nerys’ post on the Downside Facebook page:
The yard is now full of both locally-sourced cut and pot-grown Christmas Trees. We have some beautiful wreaths too, made by the son and great-granddaughter of the man who planted the woods with trees they now harvest.
Care of your Christmas Tree
- Water them! Pot grown or cut, they need watering. Cut trees are no different from cut flowers really – their leaves (needles) will fall off over your floor if they get thirsty;
- Draughty locations will kill off your tree faster than sheltered locations. Air movement evaporates water, so your tree will use more;
- Hot locations: even pot-grown trees would rather you didn’t tuck them near a heat source, bake them for a few weeks, then turf them back out in January with a temperature shock!
