Amazing late summer display for our September Banner

Cold weather, frost and watering

Now the cold weather is here, a seasonal reminder to keep an eye on the watering of evergreens in pots – Holly, Bay, Olives, and Conifers.  They will not need much but if they go into a period of sub-zero temperatures dry, they can be damaged or even die.

Remember not to walk on the lawn while the frost is still on it; if you do your footprints will turn brown. No permanent damage done, but it will look unsightly.

Do not be put off by the cold weather, though.  Now is a good time for planting trees, shrubs and hedges. Provided the ground is not actually frozen, you can go ahead, and the plant can start rooting out ready for the spring.
