Bare root and root-balled plants

Bare root and root-balled plants

It has been a wonderful summer for sitting in the garden, not so good for gardening.  The effects of the long summer drought are still with us, fields and lawns which have not been watered are still full of cracks and it will take a few days of steady rain to bring the soil back to capacity.

All this means that it is going to be a good long while before it is possible to dig any bare-root or root-balled plants.  If you are planning to plant a hedge this autumn, do come in and discuss it with us but be prepared to wait. Not only are our suppliers not going to be able to get it cut, but the ground is also far too dry for you to get it in!
