James Wong wrote an interesting article in “The Observer” on 12th June explaining why some of us dislike coriander (it is in our genes, apparently!).
He suggests Tagetes minuta, also known as Peruvian black mint as an alternative. The minuta bit refers to the flowers – the plant is huge – up to 100cm. We sent for some seed to try so it will soon be available on the nursery. Grow in a pot as the roots poison adjacent plants. Very good for cleaning ground Elder, apparently, and an eco-friendly way to avoid spraying.
