Children from Freshford School rise to the challenge of growing a prize winning geranium from starter plants provided by Downside Nurseries for the Freshford and District Horticultural Show. This year’s show, which takes place on Saturday September 14 from 3pm at Freshford Village Hall, aims to get the whole family involved. Freshford Horticultural Society members visited the school to help the children pot up the plants and to pass on tips for growing a prize winner. A wide range of children’s entry categories including baking, art and crafts has hopefully inspired summer holiday activity.
The Freshford Show is open to young and old from Freshford, Limpley Stoke, Westwood and Hinton Charterhouse. Schedules and entry forms can be picked up at the Galleries community shop in Freshford.
The Show, which is run by the Freshford and District Horticultural Society, features a popular raffle and prize winning refreshments. Entry is just £1 for adults and children go free.
